Santiago Giménez Ac Milan Transfer News

ROTTERDAM, Netherlands — Mexican forward Santiago Giménez is on the verge of a high-profile transfer to AC Milan, despite Feyenoord‘s attempts to retain him until the end of the season. The 23-year-old striker, who has been a key player for the Dutch club, has expressed his desire to join the Italian giants immediately, accelerating negotiations.

Feyenoord coach Arne Slot confirmed the ongoing discussions, stating, ‘I speak with everyone at the club, including Santi. Everyone knows AC Milan is one of his dream clubs. Since he was young, his ambition has been to play in Europe, especially for Milan. But football is football. For now, he remains a great player for us, and I hope he will be on the field.’

According to Italian sports daily La Gazzetta dello Sport, Giménez rejected Feyenoord’s request to stay until June during a meeting on Thursday. The player’s agent, Rafaela Pimenta, has reportedly presented a new financial offer from AC Milan, estimated at around $40 million. The deal is said to be influenced by a conversation between Giménez and AC Milan legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Giménez’s potential move has generated significant buzz, with La Gazzetta dello Sport featuring him on its Friday cover under the headline, ‘Here is the number nine.’ The publication also confirmed that an agreement between the two clubs has been reached, and Giménez is expected to arrive in Milan this weekend.

However, the striker’s immediate availability is in question due to an injury sustained during Feyenoord’s 6-1 loss in the Champions League on Wednesday. Despite the setback, the injury is not considered serious, and Giménez could soon don the iconic red and black jersey of AC Milan.

Feyenoord and AC Milan are set to face each other in the Champions League on February 11 or 12, with the return leg scheduled for the following week at San Siro. The outcome of these matches could further influence Giménez’s transition to his new club.
