2025 Masters Tournament Augusta National Golf Club

AUGUSTA, Ga. — The 2025 Masters Tournament tees off at Augusta National Golf Club on Thursday, April 10, featuring a roster of elite golfers vying for the iconic green jacket. Scottie Scheffler, ranked No. 1 in the world and defending champion, is the favorite to win again with odds of +460.

If Scheffler clinches a victory, he will become the first golfer to win back-to-back titles since Tiger Woods in 2001-02. “Winning a major like the Masters is incredibly challenging, and to do it again would be a huge honor,” Scheffler said during a pre-tournament press conference.

As Scheffler looks to thwart the competition, Rory McIlroy, who seeks to complete his career Grand Slam, stands next in line with odds of 11-2. “Every year, the Masters presents a unique challenge, and it’s a tournament that I’m determined to conquer,” McIlroy stated.

The odds board also features golfers such as Ludvig Aberg and Jon Rahm, both at 15-1, and Collin Morikawa and Bryson DeChambeau at 17-1. Xander Schauffele is at 19-1. Notably, five-time Masters champion Woods is unlikely to play due to a ruptured Achilles. His absence creates additional intrigue in the competitive landscape.

Golf insiders are offering a range of picks and predictions leading into the event. Patrick McDonald, a golf analyst at CBS Sports, has identified Sepp Straka as a significant betting value at 100-1. “Straka ranks inside the top 10 in the world for driving accuracy and iron play, which are critical on Augusta’s course,” McDonald explained. “He was able to secure a T-16 finish last year, and I believe he can make a substantial impact this year.”

McDonald also mentioned he is tracking a longshot golfer with more than 200-1 odds, calling him the “biggest misprice on the board.” He urged bettors to consider this golfer before finalizing their picks.

Sia Nejad, another renowned gambling expert, is providing insights into potential bets. While he expresses skepticism about Rahm’s ability to deliver despite being a former Masters champion, he is optimistic about Morikawa at 18-1. “His ball-striking has been phenomenal, and he’s constantly in winning positions,” Nejad said.

The 2025 Masters is expected to feature up to 20 previous green jacket winners, including three-time champion Phil Mickelson, as well as past champions like Hideki Matsuyama and Dustin Johnson. Mickelson is currently the top longshot at +200,000.

As the first major of the year approaches, bettors are eagerly analyzing the landscape of the field. Predictions abound, including simulations that suggest unexpected outcomes. Some models indicate that Scheffler may not necessarily hold the top position, and golfers such as Justin Thomas, priced at 24-1, could make a significant run for the title.

“Thomas has the skill set that’s needed at Augusta, and his recent performances indicate he is ready to contend,” an analyst summarized. Observers are urged to watch other golfers with longer odds who may emerge as serious contenders, as the 2025 Masters unfolds.
