Scottie Barnes Blocks Knicks Nba Game January 2025

Scottie Barnes delivered a standout performance in the Toronto Raptors‘ 112-98 loss to the New York Knicks on Wednesday, showcasing his all-around skills with 18 points, five rebounds, five assists, and a season-high four blocks in 36 minutes.

The 2021-22 Rookie of the Year has been on a hot streak, scoring at least 16 points in eight consecutive games. Over that span, Barnes has averaged 22.1 points, 7.4 rebounds, 5.1 assists, 1.5 steals, and 0.9 blocks while shooting an impressive 52.5% from the field. His recent form has solidified his role as a cornerstone for the Raptors.

Despite Barnes’ efforts, the Raptors struggled to contain the Knicks’ offense, which was led by Jalen Brunson‘s 28 points and Julius Randle‘s double-double. Toronto’s defense faltered in the second half, allowing New York to pull away with a decisive 34-21 third quarter.

Barnes’ defensive presence was a bright spot, with his four blocks marking a season high. “Scottie’s been phenomenal on both ends of the floor,” said Raptors head coach Darko Rajaković. “He’s growing into his role and showing why he’s such a special player.”

The Raptors, now 18-21 on the season, face an uphill battle to secure a playoff spot in the competitive Eastern Conference. Barnes’ continued development, however, offers hope for the team’s future as they look to rebuild around their young star.
