Scottie Scheffler Trails Leaders at Memorial Tournament Halfway Point

DUBLIN, Ohio — Scottie Scheffler finds himself three shots back as the 2025 Memorial Tournament heads into its third round. The tournament, taking place at Muirfield Village Golf Club, offers a winner’s purse of $4 million and a chance to shake hands with golfing legend Jack Nicklaus.
After two rounds, Nick Taylor and Ben Griffin lead the pack at seven under par. Scheffler sits tied for six at four under, looking to make a significant move this weekend.
Other contenders include Shane Lowry and Jordan Spieth, both at three under, and Xander Schauffele at two under. The competitive field has found scoring difficult, especially on the par-4 18th hole, known for its challenging layout.
As players prepared for the weekend rounds, conditions are expected to improve after a wet Friday. Taylor and Griffin will tee off together in Saturday’s final pairing at 3:10 p.m. ET, while Scheffler and Akshay Bhatia follow closely at 2:59 p.m. ET.
The third round will be broadcast live from 2 to 5:30 p.m. ET on Golf Channel, with additional streaming options available online.
Before the weekend, players have faced tough scoring conditions, making birdies a rare achievement. Scheffler is aiming to capitalize on favorable conditions and make a climb up the leaderboard.
As play resumes, the pressure mounts for all players vying for championship glory at the iconic Memorial Tournament.
