Griffin, a standout player during his initial tenure with the Seahawks, is currently a free agent and is exploring potential reunions with his former team.

Drafted by Seattle in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft, Griffin quickly became a key player for the franchise, making 53 starts in 57 games over four seasons. During his first stint, he notched 249 tackles, six interceptions, and 48 passes defended. His performance earned him a Pro Bowl selection in 2019, highlighting his potential as a top cornerback in the league.

After leaving Seattle in 2021 to join the Jacksonville Jaguars on a three-year, $40 million contract, Griffin struggled to maintain consistent performance due to injuries and was ultimately released after two seasons. He had brief tenures with the Houston Texans and Carolina Panthers before finding a more stable role with the Minnesota Vikings, where he played all 17 games in the 2024 season. Griffin registered 41 tackles, two interceptions, and six passes defended during that campaign.

Griffin’s return to the Seahawks comes at a time when the team is reassessing its cornerback depth, particularly with the departures of Tre Brown and Artie Burns in free agency. Current starters Devon Witherspoon and Riq Woolen represent a solid core, but Griffin may provide valuable competition at the position, especially given his experience in the league.
