Seahawks Secure River Cracraft and Re-sign Josh Ross

SEATTLE, Wash. — The Seattle Seahawks bolstered their roster on March 21, 2025, by re-signing linebacker Josh Ross and bringing in wide receiver River Cracraft, a former standout at Washington State University.
Josh Ross, who was claimed off waivers from the Baltimore Ravens last season, participated in 10 games for Seattle. He played a significant role on special teams, logging 67 percent of the team’s snaps in that unit and contributing four tackles. Ross originally went undrafted out of the University of Michigan in 2022 before joining Baltimore.
“I’m excited to return to Seattle,” said Ross. “I have a good familiarity with the coaching staff, especially Coach Macdonald, and I’m ready to help this team succeed.”
Cracraft, 30, is an acquisition with impressive stats, having recorded 218 receptions for 2,701 yards and 20 touchdowns during his time at WSU. He launched his NFL career with the Denver Broncos‘ practice squad in 2017 and made his regular-season debut with Denver in 2018. Over his seven seasons in the league, he has played in 53 games and has two starts, totaling 32 receptions for 374 yards and three touchdowns.
“Joining the Seahawks is a great opportunity for me,” Cracraft expressed. “I look forward to contributing both as a wide receiver and on special teams.”
In addition to his receiving roles, Cracraft has experience as a punt returner, registering 80 yards on 17 returns with the Broncos and 49ers. He demonstrated versatility by also returning kickoffs in 2018, gaining 43 yards for Denver.
Last season, Cracraft appeared in eight games for the Miami Dolphins, where he caught seven passes on nine targets for 66 yards, averaging 13.4 yards per reception. His experience and skill set will likely help the Seahawks enhance their offensive depth and special teams.
The Seahawks’ recent moves, including re-signing Ross, highlight their strategy of combining experienced players with homegrown talent. Ross has previously worked with Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald during their time at Michigan.
As the season approaches, fans are eager to see how these additions will impact the team’s performance on the field.
