SEATTLE, Wash. — The Seattle Seahawks have re-signed defensive tackle Jarran Reed to a three-year contract worth up to $25 million, a source confirmed to The Athletic on Sunday. Reed, who returned to the Seahawks in 2023 after brief stints with the Kansas City Chiefs and Green Bay Packers, has impressed on the field, recording 4.5 sacks and 15 quarterback hits in the previous season. A second-round draft pick from Alabama in 2016, he quickly became known as both a solid run-stuffer and a reliable pass rusher. His performance in 2018, where he notched 10.5 sacks, has been a high point of his career.

Adam Schefter of ESPN first reported the contract details on Sunday morning, noting the potential upsides of this deal. While the total value includes conditions, Reed’s performance and leadership within the Seahawks organization make him a crucial asset moving forward.

“I’m confident in how he feels about us and he knows how we feel about him,” said Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald at the recent NFL Scouting Combine. “We’re excited to have him back.”
