Seattle Sounders Fc Fifa Club World Cup 2025

SEATTLE, Wash. — Soccer fans in the Pacific Northwest have exciting news as Seattle has been selected as a host city for the FIFA Club World Cup 2025. The tournament will run from mid-June to mid-July, featuring 32 teams, including the Seattle Sounders FC.

This summer, Seattle will host six matches over ten days from June 15 to June 25. This marks the first time the United States has hosted the tournament, with estimates suggesting that 100,000 to 150,000 visitors will come to the region for the event.

The Sounders are scheduled to play three games during this period, facing teams from Brazil, Spain, and France. The games will be held at Lumen Field, coinciding with home games for the Mariners at nearby T-Mobile Park on June 15 and 17.

Sound Transit is gearing up for the influx of visitors by improving transit services. They plan to implement strategies similar to those used during Seahawks playoff games, including special game trains on weekdays and enhanced services throughout the event.

In addition, Sound Transit will host game day events at the International District/Chinatown Station, aiming to provide information and support to fans. The agency has partnered with local organizations to create a festive atmosphere around the station.

New wayfinding signs will be installed to help visitors navigate to Lumen Field and other local landmarks. Directional signs indicating walking distances will be posted at major stations, including King Street and Westlake.

Looking ahead to the FIFA World Cup 2026, Seattle will again host six matches over 22 days from June 15 to July 6. With an expected 750,000 visitors, Sound Transit is collaborating closely with the Seattle Local Organizing Committee to ensure smooth transit during both events.

Sound Transit staff will gather insights from other cities that hosted major events to maximize service reliability and quality. They will prioritize cleanliness, safety, and reliable passenger information as they prepare for the World Cup.

As preparations continue, updates regarding tournament planning and transit services will be shared with the public.
