Seattle Storm 2025 Home Opener

SEATTLE — The Seattle Storm‘s 2025 home opener is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday at Climate Pledge Arena. The first 5,000 fans will receive a ‘Doppler’ plush keychain as part of the festivities.

This home game comes after the Storm split their opening series 1-1. Fans can anticipate not only new faces on the court but also in the crowd, as the team introduces two new in-game hosts: Angelica Salem and Kayce Kirihara.

Salem and Kirihara emphasized the importance of community support for the Storm. “Show up for your team,” Salem urged. “Show up for your city. It’s a really exciting place to be.” Kirihara shared similar sentiments, noting the increasing attention on women’s sports. “Everyone watches women’s sports, and there’s no better time to be tuned in,” she said.

Kirihara brings a long history with the Storm, having started as a ball girl in 2003. Her journey continued as she worked for the team during college at the University of Hawai’i Hilo. Now, as an in-game host, she aims to enhance the fan experience. “It’s just been so surreal,” Kirihara stated. “The feeling is incredible.”

Salem, who also hosts for the Seattle Kraken and Seattle Reign FC, enjoys creating memorable experiences for fans. “Having fans that are at a game for the first time or seeing themselves up on the big screen for the first time, it’s always so exciting for me,” she said.

Both hosts are eager for fans to know their contributions matter. “They’re part of the team – the team feeds off the energy,” Kirihara explained.

This season, the Storm plan several giveaways and themed nights, including fan appreciation nights and “Believe in Women Night.” Salem encouraged attendance from all ages: “Bring the kids, bring the grandparents, bring everybody. We have fun for literally everyone.”
