Sei Young Kim Shares Lead At Honda Lpga Thailand After Strong Round

Sei Young Kim, the former winner of the Women’s PGA Championship, surged to the top of the leaderboard at the Honda LPGA Thailand after an impressive performance in the second round, resulting in a three-way tie for the lead.

After a stellar display that included four birdies and an eagle in the first 11 holes, Kim encountered some challenges with two bogeys on the 13th and 17th holes, ultimately finishing with a 4-under 68 for the day.

Madelene Sagstrom and Patty Tavatanakit also shone bright during the second round, each carding a 67 to join Kim at the top of the leaderboard with a total of 10-under 134 on the challenging Siam Country Club Old Course in Chonburi.

Brooke Henderson, a noteworthy Canadian golfer, maintained a solid position at 7 under after posting a 2-under 70 in the second round, consistently trailing the lead by three strokes.

Peiyun Chien, the first-round leader who initially led Kim by two strokes, faced a tougher second round with a score of 72, placing her two strokes behind the leading trio. Defending champion Lilia Vu showcased her skills with a 67 on Friday, positioning herself at 4 under and six strokes off the lead.

The competition at the Honda LPGA Thailand promises an exciting weekend of golf, with upcoming tournaments scheduled in Singapore and China over the next two weeks for LPGA fans to look forward to.
