ORLANDO, Fla. — A cold front sweeping through Central Florida has triggered multiple tornado warnings across Lake and Orange counties on Monday morning. The storm system began impacting the Orlando area just before 8 a.m., prompting meteorologists to issue alerts for severe weather lasting until early afternoon.

First Warning Weather has called for ‘Impact Weather’ from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Radar updates indicate severe thunderstorm warnings remain active for Lake, Orange, Seminole, and Volusia counties until 10 a.m. Additionally, a tornado warning was issued for Orange, Seminole, and Volusia counties, as well as earlier warnings for Putnam and Sumter counties.

The heavy rain and strong winds are expected to clear out by the afternoon, leaving mostly sunny skies for the evening. Following this system, high pressure will settle over the area, ushering in dry air and temperatures reaching the mid-70s on Tuesday. Meteorologists predict a return to the 80s by Thursday, with continued warming throughout the week.

First Warning Chief Meteorologist Tony Mainolfi urged residents to stay updated on weather developments. “Make sure you have multiple ways to receive weather alerts and don’t underestimate the power of a storm system like this,” he said.

Impact Weather refers to conditions that may disrupt travel and daily activities. In contrast, Severe Weather Warning Days indicate threats to life or property. The public is advised to avoid unnecessary travel during such advisories and to remain vigilant about changing conditions.

As the storms move through Central Florida, additional thunderstorms could develop, bringing potential risks of damaging wind gusts, heavy rainfall, and the possibility of isolated tornadoes. Emergency services and local authorities have been placed on high alert as conditions evolve.
