Sevilla FC and Bengaluru United FC have further solidified their coaching partnership by engaging in a knowledge exchange program. The ongoing collaboration between the two clubs, which was formalized in 2021, took a significant step forward last week.

Fernando Varela, the coach of Bengaluru United FC, recently made a trip to Sevilla to immerse himself in the Spanish club’s structure and philosophy. Varela, an experienced Argentine coach in Indian football, delved into Sevilla FĂștbol Club’s sporting approach, spanning from the first team to the youth academy.

Accompanied by JosĂ© MarĂ­a Cruz Gallardo, the head of Research and Development at Bengaluru United FC, Varela underwent specialized training during his visit to Sevilla. The Argentine coach participated in various training sessions conducted by the men’s and women’s first teams, engaging in discussions with head coaches Quique SĂĄnchez Flores and Cristian Toro, team captains JesĂșs Navas and Sergio Ramos, and the director of women’s football, Amparo GutiĂ©rrez.

Varela also had the privilege of gaining insights into the work of the youth teams at Sevilla FC, engaging in fruitful discussions with JesĂșs GalvĂĄn, the head coach of Sevilla AtlĂ©tico. The exchange of knowledge and ideas between the coaching staff of both clubs was deemed highly beneficial by Varela.

The Bengaluru United coach expressed his gratitude for the enriching experience, highlighting the impact of personalities in driving a club’s evolution. He emphasized the significance of the partnership in conveying the essence and values of Sevilla FĂștbol Club on a global scale.
