Shardul Thakur's Heroic Century Rescues Mumbai In Ranji Trophy Semi Final

In the semi-final of the Ranji Trophy, all-rounder Shardul Thakur emerged as the savior for Mumbai with a remarkable century. Despite a faltering start, Thakur showcased his mettle against Tamil Nadu with a sensational batting performance. Stepping onto the crease at number nine, Thakur crafted a superb innings of 109 runs off 105 balls, including 13 fours and 4 sixes, powering his team ahead.

Mumbai’s innings was off to a rocky start with early wickets falling cheaply, but Thakur, alongside wicketkeeper-batsman Hardik Tamore, formed an essential partnership that provided stability. Tamore contributed 35 runs off 92 balls before being dismissed, while Thakur continued his onslaught. Thakur eventually got out for 109 runs, caught by Kuldeep Sen in the 86th over, an innings that helped elevate Mumbai’s score to 353/9.

On the bowling front, Tamil Nadu’s captain, Sai Kishore, showcased exceptional skills by picking up 6 wickets, restricting Mumbai from running away with the game. Thakur’s century proved pivotal in keeping Mumbai’s hopes alive, despite facing a tough competition from Tamil Nadu’s strong bowling attack led by Kishore.
