Shedeur Sanders Remains Undrafted Amid NFL Draft Surprises

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Shedeur Sanders, one of the top quarterback prospects, continues to wait for his name to be called as the 2025 NFL Draft progresses. After three rounds and 102 picks, his absence from the draft board shocked many analysts and fans.
Mike Greenberg, an ESPN host, expressed disbelief over Sanders’ ongoing status in the draft, stating, “We have seen one of the truly stunning stories in the history of the draft: Shedeur Sanders is still on the board.” His sentiment was echoed by analysts Booger McFarland and Louis Riddick, who criticized the selection choices favoring lesser-known players over Sanders.
McFarland argued that other quarterbacks, such as Jalen Milroe and Dillon Gabriel, do not match Sanders’ talent. He remarked, “It’s gotta be about more than football. He’s the best pure passer you can draft.” Riddick added that the draft often becomes subjective based on personal preferences about the players.
As the draft unfolded, Upton Stout from Western Kentucky was picked by the San Francisco 49ers at No. 100, marking the fourth consecutive year a player from the school was selected in the first four rounds, highlighting their rise despite being a Group of 5 program.
In addition to Stout, the Minnesota Vikings selected Tai Felton, a wide receiver from Maryland. Scouts note his speed and potential despite concerns about contested catches. Analysts highlight that Felton might struggle to achieve the same success as teammates Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison but offer upside if given the opportunity.
Meanwhile, Denver made strategic moves, acquiring defensive players and bolstering their lineup. Coach Arthur Smith praised Kaleb Johnson, noting his impressive performance in late-game situations. Fans remain tuned as the draft continues, with anticipation building for the next round of selections.
With great talent still available, the question remains: will teams adjust their picks, or will Sanders continue to wait as others are chosen ahead of him?
