Indian all-rounder Shivam Dube recently found his form tested in the challenging conditions of the T20 World Cup matches held in New York, drawing comparisons to the varied and tricky pitches of India‘s Ranji Trophy.

Representing India against a resilient USA team at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, Dube showcased a crucial 35-ball 31 which helped India secure a seven-wicket victory, advancing them into the Super Eight stage of the tournament.

Reflecting on his struggles in the initial matches against Ireland and Pakistan, Dube acknowledged the difference in conditions stating, ‘These conditions require a different approach, so I was batting differently today.’

Despite a challenging run in the World Cup, Dube managed to regain some confidence with the support of the coaching staff and delivered a composed performance in the match against USA.

Hailing from Mumbai, Dube’s inclusion in the World Cup squad ahead of Rinku Singh raised eyebrows, with his recent form and struggles under the spotlight. His adaptability and performance in the coming matches will be crucial for solidifying his position in the Indian team.

With the T20 World Cup transitioning to the West Indies for the Super Eight stage, Dube will look to carry forward his regained form and make significant contributions to India’s campaign in the upcoming matches.
