LONDON, England — The highly anticipated Sidemen charity football match is set to return on March 8, 2024, at Wembley Stadium, gathering internet stars to compete for a good cause in front of 90,000 fans. Following last year’s successful event, this year’s proceeds will benefit Bright Side and BBC Children in Need.
With over 100 million combined subscribers, the Sidemen have established a legacy in charity football, raising substantial funds in past matches. In September 2023, they played against the YouTube Allstars at London Stadium, attracting 60,000 supporters and raising £2.4 million for Teenage Cancer Trust and CALM. This year, tickets sold out within three hours of release, showing the immense popularity of the event.
“The charity match is not just about football; it brings my audience and the community together for a cause we can all support,” said KSI, one of the Sidemen’s founders. “Every match we play raises vital funds for kids who need it most.”
As excitement builds, fans are speculating about participant lineups. Popular YouTuber Joe Weller and boxer Logan Paul are among the favorites to play alongside the Sidemen this year. Currently, three players have been confirmed: American streamer Fanum, who boasts 3.5 million Instagram followers, and Australian YouTuber LazarBam, who returns after participating in the previous two events.
Further announcements regarding players and celebrity appearances are expected leading up to the match, keeping fans engaged and eager for more.
