PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Philadelphia 76ers have partnered with Penn Medicine and six local organizations for the 2025-26 season as part of their Assists for Safe Communities initiative. This program donates $76 for each assist the team makes throughout the season.

Last season, the initiative raised nearly $150,000, helping various local organizations. So far this season, the Sixers are off to an even better start, with these partners set to host events with the team and receive portions of the funding.

During Monday’s game against the Orlando Magic, several past grant recipients attended. Tyrique Glasgow, representing the Young Chances Foundation, shared how the funding expanded their summer camp and enabled a trip for 42 children to San Juan, Puerto Rico. “The kids were excited to work with the Sixers; it made a big impact on their lives,” Glasgow said.

Sixers forward Adem Bona, who visited the Young Chances Foundation last season, expressed the importance of connecting with the community. “The city is the heartbeat of the team. It’s essential to connect with everyone and make them part of the team,” Bona said.

On Monday, the 3-0 Sixers recorded 25 assists, bringing the total donations from that game to $1,900, and they are averaging 25.7 assists per game this season.
