Philadelphia 76ers Vs. Dallas Mavericks Game Highlights

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — The Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Dallas Mavericks 130-125 on March 16, 2025, snapping a three-game losing streak and providing a much-needed boost as they aim to improve their season record.

Quentin Grimes led the Sixers with 28 points, showcasing his scoring ability and playmaking skills. Despite a slow second quarter, Grimes took control in the second half, further solidifying his role in the team.

His performance came against the Mavericks, the team that traded him, adding motivation as he sought to prove his value. “I wanted to show what I can do,” Grimes said post-game. “It felt great to contribute and help the team win.”

Jalen Hood-Schifino also shone with a career-high 19 points, including five three-pointers, reflecting his rising confidence on the court. “I just played my game and let it come to me,” Hood-Schifino commented. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to contribute.”

The Sixers’ win came as they faced a Mavericks team that has struggled as much as they have this season. Dallas had built a 68-64 lead at halftime, with P.J. Washington leading the charge with 20 points in the first half.

In the third quarter, however, the Sixers turned up their defensive intensity, outscoring the Mavericks 34-18 and establishing a 14-point lead at one point. Guerschon Yabusele played a key role in this resurgence, scoring 14 points and battling through fatigue and an ongoing knee issue. “He’s been a warrior all season,” coach said of Yabusele.

Ricky Council IV contributed a solid performance with 13 points and a career-high 10 rebounds, rounding out a strong effort from the Philadelphia bench.

As the season progresses, the Sixers currently hold a record of 23-44, a position slightly above the struggling Brooklyn Nets in lottery standings. The team is set to continue their road trip with a game against the Houston Rockets next.

“We have to build on this momentum and keep pushing forward,” Grimes stated. “Every game is an opportunity to grow and improve.”

The Sixers will look to capitalize on this victory as they face the Rockets on March 18, with hopeful eyes on further elevating their performance in the final stretch of the season.
