Sixth-tier club Maidstone United pulled off a historic upset in the FA Cup by securing a 2-1 victory over Ipswich Town. With over 4,000 traveling fans supporting them, Maidstone’s triumph at Portman Road was a memorable moment for their community. Manager George Elokobi expressed his belief in the magic of the FA Cup and credited the win to the team’s determination.

Brazilian goalkeeper Lucas Covolan had a standout performance for Maidstone, as Ipswich dominated the match with 38 attempts, 13 shots on target, and 78% possession. However, Maidstone managed to score two goals from their only two shots on target.

Meanwhile, reigning champions Manchester City advanced to the fifth round with a 1-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur. Nathan Ake‘s late goal sealed City’s first-ever win at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Chelsea and Aston Villa played out a goalless draw and will have to replay their match. Other upcoming FA Cup fixtures include matches between Watford or Southampton, Blackburn Rovers or Wrexham, AFC Bournemouth, West Bromwich Albion or Wolverhampton Wanderers, Bristol City or Nottingham Forest, Leicester City, Sheffield Wednesday or Coventry City, and Luton Town, Plymouth or Wrexham.

The draw for the fifth round of the FA Cup will be televised on ITV and across the FA’s social channels on January 28. Liverpool‘s match against Norwich City will follow the draw.
