NEW YORK, NY — Slack is experiencing a significant outage affecting thousands of users across the United States. The disruption reportedly began around 1:15 p.m. EDT on Monday, according to outage tracker DownDetector.
Users are reporting difficulties in sending and receiving messages, with many stating that the application is completely unresponsive. By 1:30 p.m., DownDetector had recorded over 15,000 outage reports.
Many affected individuals took to X (formerly Twitter) to share their frustrations. One user wrote, “Decided to send an announcement to 6000+ people in a Slack channel at the exact moment that Slack decided to go down. Ah the joys of technology.” Another commented, “Slack down? Monday before holiday just got that much quieter.” A third user added, “Slack outage?? in the middle of a super busy Monday of course.” One frustrated user exclaimed, “Slack is really out here slacking at the worst possible time.”
Slack has yet to comment officially on the incident. Users are hopeful the service will be restored soon as they rely on the platform for essential communication.
