Arsenal Football Combined Xi Invincibles

London, England – Arsenal legend Sol Campbell has opted to exclude Bukayo Saka from his combined starting eleven of the current squad and the iconic Invincibles team. This decision comes as the Gunners aim to carve their own legacy two decades after their last Premier League title.

The Invincibles, known for their unbeaten 2003-2004 season, remain one of the most celebrated teams in Arsenal’s history. As the current squad climbs back toward the top of the league, comparisons between the two generations highlight the talent emerging from the team.

Despite being a key player, Saka’s absence from Campbell’s selection was notable. Instead, he favored Robert Pires, stating in an interview with Sky Sports, “Oh my god. He [Pires] could shoot harder instep than anyone can shoot with their laces. Pires.”

Campbell’s choices reflected a full lineup of players from the Invincibles era, indicating the legendary status of that team. While Saka has been a standout performer in recent seasons, contributing through skill, pace, and productivity, he still must strive for greater achievements to solidify his legacy within Arsenal.

Both Saka and Pires share impressive statistics; each has played over 250 matches for Arsenal, and their goal contributions are remarkably close. While Saka has surpassed Pires in total assists, Pires still maintains a slight edge in overall goals scored.

As Saka, just 23 years old, continues to develop his game, the question remains whether he can elevate his status to that of the all-time greats, with future trophies key to making that distinction.
