South Sydney Rabbitohs Defeat Manly Warringah Sea Eagles In Rain Soaked Encounter

The South Sydney Rabbitohs managed a hard-fought win against the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles in a rain-soaked clash at Accor Stadium. The wet conditions proved challenging for both teams, but it was the Rabbitohs who capitalized on their opportunities, with standout performances from Jye Gray, Richie Kennar, and Daimen Cook.

Richie Kennar was the first to put points on the board, crossing the try line in the ninth minute after a clever play-the-ball by Michael Chee Kam. Daimen Cook orchestrated the next try, setting up Jye Gray for his maiden NRL try in the 20th minute, showcasing the Rabbitohs’ attacking prowess.

Despite the slippery field, the Rabbitohs dominated the first half, with Cody Walker narrowly missing a try-scoring opportunity with a near miss right before halftime. The Sea Eagles struggled to break through the solid defense of the Rabbitohs, going into the break 8-0 down.

Early in the second half, Jai Arrow suffered a head injury, leading to debutant Liam le Blanc entering the field. The Rabbitohs continued to hold off the Sea Eagles’ advances, showcasing their defensive resilience in challenging conditions.

With minutes left on the clock, Keaon Koloamatangi sealed the victory for the Rabbitohs with a try off a Damien Cook grubber. The win marked South Sydney’s fourth consecutive victory and a rare feat of keeping the Sea Eagles scoreless for the first time in decades.

The Rabbitohs displayed skill and determination in a gritty encounter, setting the stage for an exciting clash against the Parramatta Eels after their upcoming bye week.
