Southern California Gets Brief Break From Rain Before Another Storm Hits

LOS ANGELES (KABC) — Southern California is getting a little break from the rain Thursday before another rainmaker hits the region in the evening. The region will see "a brief 18-24 hour break" before a second "non-atmospheric river" storm moves in Thursday night into Friday, according to the weather service.
By Friday night, the Altadena area is projected to receive almost an inch of rain while the Pacific Palisades could get a little more than three-quarters of an inch of precipitation. The rain is expected to wind down Friday, setting up a dry weekend with some sunshine.
As far as rainfall totals beyond Wednesday, the region can expect between one-quarter to three-quarters of an inch of rain Thursday and about one-quarter inch of rain Friday. Los Angeles and Orange counties Thursday will see a high of around 59 degrees and a low of 53. Expect about half an inch of rain at night.
The valleys and Inland Empire Thursday will reach a high of 58 and overnight low of 52. Three-quarters of an inch of rain is on tap.Beaches Thursday will be around 60 degrees in the afternoon, dropping to 52 overnight. Expect rainfall totals between one-quarter to half inch.The mountains will be cool – a high of 47 and a low of 28 is expected. There's about a 60% chance of rain, with snow for elevations above 7,500 feet.
