A SpiceJet staff member has been arrested in Jaipur after allegedly assaulting a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) officer at the airport. The incident, which occurred during a security screening dispute, has sparked controversy.

The employee, identified as Anuradha Rani, is accused of slapping the CISF officer following a heated argument. The clash was captured in a CCTV video that has since gone viral.

Following a complaint by the CISF officer, a case of assault has been registered against Anuradha Rani. SpiceJet, where she was employed, has also initiated legal action in response to the incident.

The airline alleges that their employee was subjected to inappropriate behavior, including suggestive comments, by the CISF officer. They claim that the officer even made unsettling remarks, prompting the altercation.

According to the police, the confrontation began when Rani and other staff members sought entry through a restricted gate at the airport. Assistant Sub Inspector Giriraj Prasad halted Rani, citing lack of proper authorization.

Despite having a valid entry pass, Rani was redirected for the mandatory screening meant for airline crew. This redirection, due to the absence of female CISF personnel at the screening point, led to further tension and ultimately the alleged assault.

Jodhpur airport officials have confirmed the arrest of Anuradha Rani, who was employed by SpiceJet as a security staff member. Investigations are ongoing to ascertain the sequence of events and determine the appropriate course of action.

SpiceJet stands by their employee, emphasizing the need for fair treatment and condemning any form of harassment. The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security, the regulatory body overseeing civil aviation in India, has also been drawn into the controversy.
