San Antonio Spurs Vs Memphis Grizzlies Basketball Game

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — The San Antonio Spurs (19-19) will host the Memphis Grizzlies (25-15) at Frost Bank Center on Wednesday, January 15, in a highly anticipated NBA matchup. The game tips off at 8:00 PM ET, with the Grizzlies entering as 2.5-point favorites and an over/under set at 239.5.

The Spurs are coming off a dominant 126-102 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday, while the Grizzlies narrowly lost 120-118 to the Houston Rockets. San Antonio will look to build on their momentum against a Memphis team that has emerged as one of the NBA’s top contenders this season.

Memphis boasts a formidable lineup, led by Jaren Jackson Jr., who averages 22.8 points and 6.4 rebounds per game, and Ja Morant, who contributes 21.4 points and 7.3 assists. The Grizzlies rank first in the league in points scored (122.9) and second in rebounds (48.1), making them a tough opponent on both ends of the court.

San Antonio will rely heavily on rookie sensation Victor Wembanyama, who averages 25.1 points, 10.7 rebounds, and 3.9 blocks per game. Wembanyama’s ability to dominate the interior will be crucial against Memphis’ strong frontcourt, which includes Jackson Jr. and 7-foot-4 rookie Zach Edey.

“Victor is up to any challenge,” said a Spurs spokesperson. “He just had a great game against Anthony Davis, and we’ll need him to set the tone again.”

The Spurs will also need strong performances from guards Devin Vassell and Stephon Castle, who combined for 46 points in their win over the Lakers. Vassell, in particular, found his rhythm from beyond the arc, hitting five of nine three-point attempts.

Memphis’ depth and defensive prowess, ranked fifth in defensive rating, will test San Antonio’s offensive versatility. The Grizzlies’ bench, featuring players like Santi Aldama and Jaylen Wells, adds another layer of difficulty for the Spurs.

Injury reports show the Spurs will be without Jeremy Sochan (back) and several G League players, while Memphis lists Marcus Smart (finger) and Vince Williams Jr. (ankle) as out. Jay Huff is probable for the Grizzlies despite a knee issue.

With both teams fighting for playoff positioning, Wednesday’s game promises to be a high-stakes battle. Fans can catch the action on Fubo, ESPN+, or Max, with live streaming options available.
