NEW YORK — Squarespace is set to make its 11th appearance in the Big Game with a low-tech Super Bowl ad featuring Irish actor Barry Keoghan and a donkey named Mosley. The website-building platform released a teaser on Jan. 16, 2025, ahead of its 30-second spot during Super Bowl LIX on Feb. 9.

The teaser, titled “Barry and Mosley,” shows Keoghan and the donkey delivering newspapers on a foggy country road. The campaign, developed in-house, aims to celebrate creativity and entrepreneurship. “Barry brings his signature charm and depth to this campaign, celebrating creativity and entrepreneurship in a way that is both striking and unexpected,” a Squarespace spokesperson said.

Keoghan, known for his roles in “The Banshees of Inisherin” and “Saltburn,” joins a prestigious list of Squarespace collaborators, including Martin Scorsese, Adam Driver, and Zendaya. The Super Bowl ad, titled “A Tale as Old as Websites,” will air between the first and second quarters of the game.

Mosley, the donkey co-star, is also in the spotlight. According to Squarespace, the animal could use a website to support his “budding acting career.” The behind-the-scenes film has been described as both charming and humorous, though somewhat puzzling.

Keoghan has a busy year ahead, with projects including the Ireland-set drama “Bring Them Down” alongside Christopher Abbott, set to debut on Feb. 7. He is also rumored to be part of Sam Mendes‘ four-part Beatles biopic and will star in The Weeknd‘s film “Hurry Up Tomorrow” alongside Jenna Ortega.

When asked about a potential reunion with “Saltburn” director Emerald Fennell, Keoghan expressed interest. “Anyone that I’ve worked with before, I would work with them in a heartbeat,” he said. “I don’t want to bug her about it, but yeah, if the part made sense.”

The Super Bowl ad marks another creative milestone for Squarespace, which has consistently used its Big Game spots to blend humor, storytelling, and brand messaging.
