Sri Lanka began their innings strongly in the first T20I match against Bangladesh, scoring 79/2 after the first 10 overs. Sadeera Samarawickrama and Kusal Mendis led the charge with 22 and 32 runs respectively.
Taskin Ahmed picked up a crucial wicket for Bangladesh, keeping the pressure on the Sri Lankan batsmen. Rishad Hossain and Mahedi Hasan also bowled well to contain the opposition.
Meanwhile, Mustafizur Rahman and Shoriful Islam provided additional support in the bowling attack, looking to disrupt the flow of runs for Sri Lanka.
In response, Avishka Fernando, Charith Asalanka, Angelo Mathews, and other key players in the Sri Lankan lineup aimed to set a competitive target for Bangladesh. Dasun Shanaka‘s captaincy and the spin attack led by Akila Dananjaya added depth to the team’s strategy.
On the other hand, Bangladesh’s top order, including Najmul Hossain Shanto, Litton Das, and Soumya Sarkar, planned a strong batting performance to chase down the target set by Sri Lanka.
