Stanford Women's Golf Team 2025

STANFORD, Calif. — No. 3 Stanford women’s golf kicked off the Stanford Intercollegiate hosted by Dr. Condoleezza Rice on Friday, achieving a program record on their home course. The team shot 13-under, leading the competition by five strokes heading into the second round.

Stanford has a history of breaking records each year, and Friday’s performance continued that trend. The Cardinal’s 13-under score marks the fourth time in the past year that they have shot -13 or better. In comparison, last year’s winning score at the Stanford Intercollegiate was -18.

Highlighting Friday’s achievements was a standout performance by one of the players, who posted a 5-under 66. This score tied her personal best from her collegiate career. Despite a lone bogey on the second hole, she concluded the round with birdies on the seventh and ninth holes to secure the top score for her team.

Another strong competitor for Stanford was her teammate, who shot 4-under 67, moving up the leaderboard after several birdies at the end of her round. The team also saw consistent performances from a pair of players, each shooting 2-under 69.

Stanford currently leads the tournament with a six-stroke advantage over No. 4 Oregon, which finished with a team score of 7-under. Arizona is in third at 6-under, while No. 25 UCLA sits at 1-over.

The second round of the Stanford Intercollegiate begins Saturday morning, with Stanford teeing off at 7:30 a.m. The tournament, dedicated to Northwestern’s head coach Emily Fletcher, who is a breast cancer survivor, aims to raise funds for cancer research.
