Star Of 'emily In Paris' Ashley Park Recovers From Health Scare After Battle With Septic Shock

Ashley Park, known for her role in the popular television series ‘Emily in Paris‘, recently opened up about a major health scare she experienced at the beginning of the year. The actor and singer revealed that what started as a case of tonsillitis quickly turned into critical septic shock, leading to the infection and impact on several of her organs.

According to Park, the health scare occurred while she was on vacation during the holiday season. She took to social media to share her experience, alongside photos of her in a hospital bed. Emphasizing her gratitude, she stated, ‘I am now safely on the other side of the worst as I sit here processing and recovering from the first few weeks of 2024’.

Sepsis, the condition Park suffered from, is a life-threatening response by the body to an infection. It can result in organ failure and even death due to a lack of blood flow and associated inflammation. Early medical intervention is crucial, as delayed treatment can increase the fatality rate. In the United States, between 1 and 3 million people are diagnosed with sepsis each year, with a mortality rate ranging from 15% to 30%.

Park expressed her gratitude towards the medical staff who aided in her treatment, as well as her family and team for their support. She reserved a special mention for her boyfriend and ‘Emily in Paris’ co-star, Paul Forman, who stood by her side throughout the ordeal. ‘You calmed my fears and held me through ambulances, three foreign hospitals, a week in the ICU, scary ERs, countless scans and tests and injections, excruciating pain, and so much confusion all while we were alone on the other side of the world far from those we know’, shared Park in a heartfelt message.

The 32-year-old entertainer assured her fans that she is on the road to recovery and will be okay. Fellow ‘Emily in Paris’ co-star Lily Collins commented on Park’s Instagram post, expressing her love and support.
