Dallas Stars Vs Detroit Red Wings Hockey Game

DALLAS — The Dallas Stars will host the Detroit Red Wings at the American Airlines Center on Sunday night, aiming to extend their 11-game home winning streak against Detroit. The Stars, currently third in the Central Division with a 28-16-1 record, are looking to rebound after a recent loss to the Colorado Avalanche.

The Red Wings, sitting seventh in the Atlantic Division with a 21-20-4 record, are coming off a tough loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning. Detroit has struggled on the road this season, posting a 9-9-2 record away from home. Despite their recent setbacks, the Red Wings have shown flashes of brilliance, particularly from forward Dylan Larkin, who leads the team with 20 goals and 41 points this season.

Stars forward Jason Robertson has been a key contributor, with 17 points in his last 10 games against the Red Wings. Robertson emphasized the importance of a strong response in front of the home crowd. “I think tomorrow we have an opportunity to respond well in front of a home crowd against a very hot team, so it’s going to be a big response game,” Robertson said.

Dallas has relied heavily on their AHL affiliate this season due to injuries to key players like Tyler Seguin and Mason Marchment. Stars coach Pete DeBoer praised the contributions of call-ups like Adam Blümel, who has 32 points in 32 games with the Texas Stars. “Every organization, you get to this point of the season and your depth gets tested,” DeBoer said. “Those guys have to come up and contribute.”

Blümel, a fourth-round draft pick by Edmonton in 2019, has shown growth in his game. “It feels different because I feel I’m a better player overall,” Blümel said. “I got better at playing a 200-foot game. I’m happy to get this opportunity to show how hard I’ve been working in the AHL.”

The Stars have been dominant at home against the Red Wings, winning 11 straight games dating back to the 2016-17 season. Detroit will need to overcome this historical disadvantage to secure a crucial win in their playoff push.

Sunday’s game is set for 8 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on the FanDuel Sports Network. Fans can also stream the game online.
