Steelers Activate Calvin Anderson, Make Roster Moves Ahead of Ravens Game
The Pittsburgh Steelers made several roster adjustments on Saturday, January 11, 2025, ahead of their crucial matchup against the Baltimore Ravens. Offensive tackle Calvin Anderson was activated from the Reserve/Injured, Designated for Return List, marking his return to the 53-man roster after recovering from a groin injury sustained in mid-December.
Anderson, who joined the Steelers in September 2024, has appeared in 46 career NFL games, starting 14. His return bolsters the offensive line as the team prepares for a high-stakes divisional game. The Steelers also elevated wide receivers Scotty Miller and Jamal Agnew from the practice squad to the Active/Inactive Roster for the game. Both players will revert to the practice squad after the game.
Miller, who was waived earlier in the week, re-signed to the practice squad and was elevated for the game. In 13 appearances this season, he has recorded five receptions for 69 yards. Agnew, an eight-year NFL veteran, joined the Steelers’ practice squad in November and has 77 career receptions for 746 yards and five touchdowns.
The team also released safety Ayo Oyelola from the practice squad. Meanwhile, several players were declared inactive for the game, including quarterback Kyle Allen, cornerback Cory Trice, and linebacker Preston Smith for the Steelers. The Ravens will be without key players such as wide receiver Zay Flowers and safety Marcus Williams.
Anderson’s return is a significant boost for the Steelers’ offensive line, which has struggled with injuries this season. His experience and versatility, having played both left and right tackle positions, will be crucial against a formidable Ravens defense.
