Pittsburgh, PA — Wide receiver DK Metcalf, who joined the Pittsburgh Steelers this season, has been fined $12,172 for unsportsmanlike conduct following a recent game against the Green Bay Packers.

In Week 8, the Steelers faced a tough loss with a final score of 35-25. Metcalf, who has become quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ top target, caught five passes for 55 yards and a touchdown, but he also engaged in a skirmish with Packers linebacker Quay Walker.

The incident occurred when Metcalf appeared to hit Walker in the helmet during the game. The action led to a penalty that pushed the Steelers back, effectively stalling a drive that could have helped the team recover.

Pittsburgh acquired Metcalf from the Seattle Seahawks earlier this season in exchange for future draft picks and signed him to a lucrative five-year contract worth $150 million. His performance has led to 27 receptions for 461 yards and five TDs, making him critical to the Steelers’ offensive strategy.

Despite the team’s current 4-3 record, they have struggled with consistency, especially in their recent games against tough opponents like the Baltimore Ravens and Green Bay Packers. The Steelers’ defense, which is among the most expensive in the NFL, has not met expectations, forcing the offense to take on a bigger role.

As the Steelers prepare to host the 7-1 Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, Metcalf’s ability to contribute without penalties will be essential for the team as they seek to get back on track and secure much-needed wins.

Kickoff for the game is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET on CBS.
