Nfl Draft 2025 Trades Analysis

PITTSBURGH, PA — The Pittsburgh Steelers have traded their fifth-round pick, No. 156, to the Kansas City Chiefs for picks No. 164 and 226 in the seventh round during the 2025 NFL Draft.

This move marks the Steelers’ first trade of this draft cycle, as General Manager Omar Khan looks to optimize the team’s draft strategy by adding an additional seventh-round selection.

The Steelers will now have a total of seven picks in this year’s draft, allowing them to further bolster their roster. The Chiefs, leveraging their position, selected linebacker Jeffrey Bassa from Oregon with the 156th pick.

As for the Steelers, the team is expected to make selections at picks No. 164, No. 185, No. 226, and No. 229. They could address several needs, including quarterback, wide receiver, or defensive line depth. Barring additional trades, Pittsburgh remains on the clock and is poised to make an impactful pick in the fifth round.

Steelers’ fans are particularly curious about the team’s direction at quarterback following the trade, as they previously parted ways with Russell Wilson.
