Stefon Diggs, a former walk-on wide receiver for the University of Maryland, has become one of the most successful NFL players in recent years. Before making a name for himself on the professional stage, Diggs showcased his electrifying talents during his college career.
Born and raised in Gaithersburg, Maryland, Diggs had multiple scholarship offers from top schools such as Ohio State and Florida. However, he chose to stay close to home and joined the Maryland Terrapins.
At Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic High School, Diggs established himself as one of the greatest players in Maryland high school football history. His impressive performances earned him accolades such as being selected for the U.S. Army All-American Bowl and receiving All-Met honors from the Washington Post.
During his college years, Diggs faced both success and challenges. Despite Maryland finishing with a combined record of 18-20 during his three-year tenure, Diggs managed to make a significant impact on the team. He recorded a total of 150 receptions, 2,227 receiving yards, and 14 receiving touchdowns. Additionally, he contributed two kick return touchdowns.
After his college career, Diggs entered the NFL Draft and was selected by the Minnesota Vikings. Since then, he has earned a reputation as one of the best wide receivers in the league.
