Steph Curry’s Late 3-Pointer Seals Warriors’ Victory Over Timberwolves
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — Steph Curry delivered a clutch 3-pointer in the final seconds to lift the Golden State Warriors to a thrilling 123-115 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves at Target Center on Wednesday night. The win improved the Warriors’ record to 21-19, while the Timberwolves fell to 20-20.
Curry, who finished with 27 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists, sank the decisive shot from the corner with just 30 seconds remaining, giving the Warriors a late lead they would not relinquish. “It’s moments like these that define our team,” Curry said postgame. “We trust each other, and we know how to execute when it matters most.”
The game was a back-and-forth battle, with both teams trading leads throughout the night. Anthony Edwards of the Timberwolves kept his team in contention with a tough and-1 play late in the fourth quarter, finishing with 28 points and 6 assists. However, Golden State’s balanced attack, including 24 points from Klay Thompson and 18 points from Andrew Wiggins, proved too much for Minnesota.
Golden State shot 48.8% from the field and 50% from beyond the arc, while Minnesota struggled with efficiency, shooting 44.2% overall and 45.9% from 3-point range. The Warriors also dominated the boards, outrebounding the Timberwolves 45-29.
The Timberwolves, led by Karl-Anthony Towns‘ 19 points and 10 rebounds, made a late push but couldn’t overcome Golden State’s composure in crunch time. “We had our chances, but they made the plays when it counted,” said Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch.
The game drew a crowd of 18,978 at Target Center, with fans treated to a high-stakes matchup between two Western Conference contenders. Both teams now look ahead to their next games, with the Warriors aiming to build momentum and the Timberwolves seeking to bounce back.
