Steph Curry Returns as Warriors Face Thunder After Illness
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – After missing three games due to illness, Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry is set to return when the team faces the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday at Paycom Center.
Curry last played on November 4 in a win against the Phoenix Suns. Since then, the Warriors have struggled, going 1-2 without him. They lost two games on the road against the Sacramento Kings and the Denver Nuggets before securing a win against the Indiana Pacers on Sunday at Chase Center.
During a press conference after the Pacers game, Warriors coach Steve Kerr expressed optimism about Curry’s return, stating, “I expected Steph back for this road trip.” The 37-year-old worked out on Sunday and Monday, preparing for his comeback.
However, the Warriors will also be without center Al Horford, who is listed as questionable due to a left toe injury. This injury comes as they prepare for back-to-back games against the Thunder and the San Antonio Spurs.
The Warriors are currently underdogs by 7.5 points in the betting odds against the Thunder, who boast a 10-1 record this season. Golden State, standing at 5-5 overall, is eager to boost their offense, which is ranked in the bottom half of the league.
Curry, averaging 26.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game, brings a vital presence to the court. His ability to create space for teammates is crucial for the Warriors’ performance, which has faltered recently, failing to score over 120 points in several games.
As the Thunder lead the NBA in defensive ratings, Curry’s return will be a key moment for the Warriors as they look to regain their momentum in the 2025-26 season.
