Stephen Curry Embraces Shoe Freedom After Leaving Under Armour
San Francisco, CA — Stephen Curry, the Golden State Warriors star, is currently a shoe free agent, enjoying the freedom to wear various sneakers after his split with Under Armour. On Monday, he honored NBA legend Michael Jordan by wearing the “Flu Game” Air Jordan 12 before switching to the “Last Shot” Air Jordan 14 during warmups against the Utah Jazz.
Curry had a successful partnership with Under Armour since 2013 but announced earlier this month that they would part ways. As part of the split, Curry will retain full ownership of his signature “Splash” logo. His last shoe with Under Armour, the Curry 13, is set for release in February 2026.
Since becoming a free agent, Curry has been experimenting with different brands. Recently, before a game against the Miami Heat, he wore Dwyane Wade‘s Way of Wade 1s, and against the Orlando Magic, he paid tribute to legends Shaquille O’Neal and Penny Hardaway with their signature sneakers.
After the game against the Jazz, where he praised the history of the game, Curry expressed his excitement for his shoe choices this season. He mentioned wanting to honor various eras and athletes, saying, “It’s kind of cool understanding the history of the game and the themes around certain teams we’re playing.” His next matchup is against the Houston Rockets, and fans are eager to see what shoes he will select.
Curry continues to show impressive performance on the court, averaging 28.6 points per game this season. Despite a rocky start for the Warriors, who are currently 9-9, Curry’s individual success remains a highlight for the team as they aim to compete for a championship.
