OXFORD, Miss. — Former Kansas guard AJ Storr has officially announced his commitment to Ole Miss after entering the transfer portal. Storr, who was among the top players available last offseason while transferring from Wisconsin, struggled to find his role at Kansas during the just-concluded season.

Playing in 34 games, Storr managed to start only four, averaging 6.1 points and 1.7 rebounds. These numbers reflect a significant drop from his performance at Wisconsin, where he averaged 16.8 points and 3.9 rebounds in a full season of 36 starts just two years prior.

“I believe Ole Miss is the right place for me to reach my potential and make a meaningful impact,” Storr said in a statement. “I’m excited about the opportunity to compete at a high level in the SEC.”

This marks Storr’s fourth school in four years. He initially began his collegiate career at St. John's before transferring to Wisconsin, then Kansas, and now Ole Miss. He will have one year of eligibility left, which he aims to fully utilize to revitalize his career.

Ole Miss has proven to be a welcoming environment for transfer players, and Coach Chris Beard expressed enthusiasm about adding Storr to the roster. “AJ is a talented player with significant experience. We believe he can elevate our team and contribute immediately,” Beard stated.

As the college basketball landscape increasingly trends towards the transfer portal, Storr’s move underscores the ongoing evolution in player movement within NCAA sports. His decision will be closely followed by fans eager to see how the transition impacts his performance.
