Fsu Seminoles Football 2024

The 2024 college football season has proven to be challenging for Florida State University (FSU), with the team recording a 1-5 start and a 1-4 standing in conference play. This outcome has left many Seminoles fans disheartened, according to reports.

A major point of contention has been the team’s offensive struggles, with quarterback D.J. Uiagalelei facing criticism for his performance. Jesse Simonton from On3 evaluated the impact of transfer quarterbacks and was candid in his assessment, stating, “Hell no,” when analyzing whether FSU succeeded with recruitment via the transfer portal. Simonton noted that Uiagalelei, who transferred from Oregon State, missed the Clemson game due to a finger injury but had an unremarkable stint, as evidenced by a 53.8% completion rate, alongside four touchdowns and six interceptions in his first five games.

Despite Uiagalelei’s subpar performance, he is not solely to blame for FSU’s issues. The team’s running game ranks among the weakest in college football, contributing to their offensive woes. Head Coach Mike Norvell expressed uncertainty about whether Uiagalelei will take to the field again this season, leaving fans divided on the matter.

As FSU regroups at the season’s midpoint, comparisons emerge concerning other programs’ success with transfer quarterbacks. Simonton’s evaluations varied, with Miami receiving praise as having “aced it,” whereas teams like UCF and Vanderbilt were deemed unsuccessful.

Looking ahead, FSU prepares for an important ACC game against Duke, with the match scheduled for Friday, October 18, at 7 p.m. ET, to be aired on ESPN2. This game provides an opportunity for FSU to regroup and possibly improve their season standing.

In contrast, Duke boasts a 5-1 record and returns from a bye week. The team, led by Coach Mike Elko and quarterback Maalik Murphy, poses a significant challenge given their recent performances.
