Summit Juneteenth Celebration 2025

Summit, New Jersey — The City of Summit will honor Juneteenth with its fourth annual community celebration on Friday, June 20, 2025. The event will run from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on the Village Green at 356 Broad Street. It is free and open to the public.

This year’s celebration promises a variety of live music, cultural performances, and activities for families. According to the Summit Mayor, the event aims to celebrate the importance of Juneteenth while fostering community unity.

The program features a performance titled Eda Ne Kakati (From the Past to the Present), which combines dance, music, and storytelling. Attendees can also enjoy the lively sounds of steel drum music by AfriCarib, participate in a spirited Zumba session led by Jaquetta, watch a Double Dutch demonstration by Double Dutch Lyfe, and attend a headline concert by The Priceless Band.

In addition to the entertainment lineup, local food trucks will be present, offering a variety of options. Children’s activities and a vendor fair showcasing Black-owned businesses and nonprofit organizations are also part of the festivities.

Vendors interested in participating are encouraged to reach out to David Guida at davidguidajr@cityofsummit.org for registration information. This community celebration is supported by Atlantic Health System and Saint John’s Lutheran Church.
