2025 Masters Golf Tournament Predictions

AUGUSTA, Ga. — With just a week until the 2025 Masters, a supercomputer has analyzed the tournament, predicting that Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy hold the best chances of winning. The simulations, which accounted for betting odds, strokes gained, driving distance, and accuracy, indicate that Scheffler leads with a 33.96 percent likelihood of capturing his third green jacket, while McIlroy follows with a 23.63 percent chance.

The supercomputer conducted 1,000 simulations, and the results suggest a staggering 57.59 percent probability that either Scheffler or McIlroy will emerge victorious. This dominance is evident as both golfers also rank first and second in the Official World Golf Rankings.

“Scheffler and McIlroy being at the top of the simulations is not a surprise; they are playing some of the best golf of their careers,” said a spokesperson for Oddspedia, which performed the calculations. “Their performance metrics reflect their positions as the favorites heading into Augusta.”

Scheffler, currently the world No. 1, has yet to win a tournament in 2025. However, he is coming off a strong second-place finish at the Houston Open and has four other top-20 finishes this season. The two-time Masters champion, who has secured victories in 2022 and 2023, is eager to revive his winning momentum at Augusta.

Meanwhile, McIlroy, sitting at No. 2 in the world rankings, has already notched two wins this season and leads the PGA Tour in strokes gained. Despite suffering from an elbow issue, he expressed confidence in his game heading into the Masters.

“It was a solid week at Houston, but I still don’t feel my game is 100 percent under control,” McIlroy told reporters. “I’m looking forward to getting some treatment and early practice to make sure I’m ready for Augusta.”

McIlroy, who aims to complete a career Grand Slam at this year’s Masters, has achieved significant success in other majors but has yet to conquer Augusta despite several close calls, including a tie for second in 2022.

As the tournament approaches, all eyes are on Scheffler and McIlroy, with many golf analysts predicting a gripping showdown. Bryson DeChambeau, another top contender, is third in win probability with just 5.14 percent, significantly trailing the leaders.

“Scheffler and McIlroy are clearly the players to watch,” said a leading golf analyst. “Their performance at Augusta over the years—and particularly their current form—make this matchup highly anticipated.”

The Masters, commencing on April 10, attracts global attention every year, and this edition is expected to feature one of the most competitive fields yet, setting the stage for possibly historic outcomes. The last several tournaments have strengthened the narrative of a Scheffler vs. McIlroy showdown, and fans are eager to see if McIlroy can finally add a green jacket to his accolades.
