Supercross Motocross Racers Competing Arlington Texas

ARLINGTON, Texas — As the Supercross season intensifies, Cooper Webb and Chase Sexton enter this weekend’s race in Arlington, locked in a tie for the 450SX class points lead following a dramatic series of events in Detroit last week.

Webb captured his 26th career victory in the 450SX class with a narrow win over Ken Roczen, while Sexton surged from last to third place, allowing him to equal Webb’s point total at 87. Both riders have shown resilience in their pursuit of the championship, positioning themselves as front-runners as they head into the Triple Crown format race on Saturday.

“If you give Webb any opportunity, he’s going to seize it, just like he did in Detroit,” said Aaron Hansel, a Supercross analyst. “Sexton can’t afford to give Webb an inch because if he does, Webb will take a mile.”

Webb’s recent performance points to his ability to capitalize on critical moments during races. “Outright speed is not the department in which Webb dominates, but he knows how to play his cards right,” Hansel added.

Meanwhile, Roczen, who finished second in Detroit, is also in the mix. After coming close to a victory, he’s seeking another shot at the podium. “Roczen seems to be at an elevated level this season, and getting another win is not unlikely,” Hansel stated.

In the 250SX East class, the competition is equally fierce. With the absence of repeat winners in the West so far, upcoming races are set to unfold thrilling rivalries. Max Anstie, who recently secured his first win of the season in Glendale, will be competing against Julien Beaumer and Jordon Smith, both of whom are close in points.

“With the points that tight, any of those three could leave Texas with the red plate,” remarked Hansel, emphasizing the unpredictability of the 250SX East standings.

Following a stellar performance in Glendale, where he earned Triumph’s first ever SMX League win, Jordon Smith finds himself just two points off of Beaumer. “His 27th podium puts him second all-time, only behind Nathan Ramsey’s 30,” Hansel said.

Haiden Deegan, another rising star in the 250SX ranks, also continues to impress. He is only one point behind Smith and has accumulated 11 podiums in his 23 career 250SX Class starts. “The battle for the title is heating up with such tight standings,” Hansel remarked.

Fans can expect high-stakes racing in Arlington, with the first Triple Crown event being hosted at AT&T Stadium, where multiple main events will test racers’ endurance and skills. “What kind of craziness will the second Triple Crown round produce this weekend?” Hansel posed, hinting at the excitement ahead.

As the season unfolds, the stakes are high for every competitor on the track. With Webb, Sexton, Roczen, and the contenders in the 250SX divisions all vying for supremacy, the Arlington race is shaping up to be a pivotal moment in the 2025 Supercross season.
