Taron Egerton on ‘Carry-On,’ ‘Die Hard’ Comparisons, and Holiday Plans
Taron Egerton is set to star in the upcoming action-thriller “Carry-On,” a film that has already drawn comparisons to the classic movie “Die Hard.” In an interview with “Extra’s” Melvin Robert, Egerton discussed his role as Ethan, a young TSA agent who finds himself in a perilous situation on Christmas Eve. Ethan is blackmailed by a mysterious traveler into allowing a dangerous package onto a flight, setting the stage for a tense and action-packed narrative.
Egerton addressed the “Die Hard” comparisons, acknowledging the similarities but also highlighting the unique elements of “Carry-On.” He described his character, Ethan, as a normal guy thrust into an extraordinary and dangerous situation, which adds a relatable layer to the film.
The actor also praised his co-star Sofia Carson, expressing his admiration for her work and the chemistry they share on screen. In addition to discussing the film, Egerton shared insights into his personal life, including what kind of traveler he is and his holiday music playlist.
“Carry-On” is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on December 13, just in time for the holiday season. The film promises to deliver a mix of suspense, action, and holiday spirit, making it a must-watch for fans of the genre.
