Jack Laugher and Anthony Harding from Team GB have made headlines after winning a bronze medal in the 3m synchronised springboard final at the Paris 2024 Olympics. This event marks another successful venture for the British diving team, which has now secured four medals in the competition.

Although Gold is still out of reach, Laugher and Harding showcased impressive diving skills, finishing strong in their event. This bronze marks Harding’s first Olympic medal and adds to Laugher’s impressive tally, as this is his fourth medal across three Olympic Games.

In diving competitions, China often dominates the scene, and this event was no different. The pairing of Wang Zongyuan and Long Daoyi from China ultimately took gold, while Mexico snagged silver thanks to strong performances from Juan Manuel Celaya Hernandez and Osmar Olvera Ibarra.

The competition was intense right from the start, and after two rounds, Laugher and Harding were in contention, delivering a fantastic forward two-and-a-half somersault with two twists that wowed the judges and took them to the top of the scoreboard.

As they moved into the final round, excitement build as both Laugher and Harding executed their last dive spectacularly, earning a near-perfect score. Meanwhile, their eyes were on Mexico’s final attempt, hoping for a slip-up, but the Mexican divers held their nerve, ultimately beating the British duo to the silver medal.

With individual events still coming up, the pressure is on, but Laugher seems prepared to face tough competition from the Chinese divers once again, pushing their limits in what’s already been a historically impressive Olympic showing for Team GB.
