Teddy Bridgewater Coaching Miami Northwestern High School Football

Teddy Bridgewater, the former NFL quarterback who retired after the 2023 season, is making waves with his recent hints at a potential return to the NFL. Currently, Bridgewater is serving as the head coach at his high school alma mater, Miami Northwestern, where he has led the team to a remarkable 69-0 win in the opening game of the Florida high school football playoffs.

Bridgewater, who turned 32, expressed his enthusiasm for a return to the NFL on social media. In a post, he mentioned, “So many QB jobs available for me after we make this state title run. I can’t wait to return back to the NFL.”.

During his nine-year NFL career, Bridgewater accumulated 15,120 total yards, 75 touchdowns, and 47 interceptions. He had notable stints with the Minnesota Vikings, New Orleans Saints, Carolina Panthers, Denver Broncos, and Miami Dolphins. His last full season as a starter was with the Broncos in 2021, where he completed 66.9% of his passes for 3,052 yards, 18 touchdowns, and 7 interceptions.

Bridgewater’s coaching experience and his success in mentoring young players, such as Hendon Hooker and Jameson Williams during his time with the Detroit Lions, could make him an attractive asset for NFL teams looking for experienced quarterbacks to guide their younger talent. His prior relationship with Lions’ coach Dan Campbell could also facilitate a return to Detroit.

The Minnesota Vikings, in particular, might be a viable option for Bridgewater, given their need to strengthen their quarterback room. With J.J. McCarthy as the only quarterback under contract for 2025, Bridgewater could serve as a valuable backup and mentor.
