MEXICO CITY, Mexico — Raul Rosas Jr. will put his impressive fighting skills on display this Saturday as he looks to extend his win streak to four in the Octagon against Vince Morales at UFC Mexico City. This bout holds additional significance for the 20-year-old, as a victory would make him the youngest fighter in UFC history to secure five wins, surpassing the current record set by Jon Jones.

Rosas Jr., who made headlines as a potential superstar in the UFC landscape, debuted at just 17 years old, defeating Aoriqileng in September 2023. Now, as he prepares to fight on home soil, expectations are high for the young fighter known as ‘El Nino Problema.’

“I have three years to break the record, but I’m looking to do it sooner than that,” Rosas Jr. said in an interview with The Ariel Helwani Show. “This year, hopefully, I at least get ranked top 15; that would put me in a good position to break the record.”

Currently, the record for youngest to five UFC wins is held by Jon Jones, who achieved this milestone at 21 years and 203 days. Rosas Jr. has carved a unique path in the sport, winning notable matches and accumulating a 4-1 record, with three consecutive victories heading into Saturday’s event.

In his last fight, Rosas Jr. faced a significant experience gap against Aoriqileng, who was 12 years his senior. Despite this, he dominated the match, showcasing a strategic approach by controlling the fight on the ground and limiting his opponent’s effectiveness. His victory via unanimous decision marked a remarkable achievement and showcased his maturity and skills in the Octagon.

“It feels amazing making history at 19 years old,” Rosas Jr. stated after his last fight. With the backing of his family and a growing fanbase, Rosas Jr. is determined to continue his upward trajectory in the UFC.

Rosas Jr. was born in Clovis, New Mexico, but has strong ties to Mexico, where his parents grew up. His father, Raul Sr., is a boxing coach, imparting valuable lessons about the sport’s discipline and commitment. Rosas Jr. attributes much of his motivation to his family, aiming to elevate their lives through his success in the UFC.

“I want to help out my family to move forward, and so we can continue moving up,” he remarked in a 2022 interview. This personal drive is evident as he prepares for another critical bout against Morales, who brings 25 fights worth of experience to the Octagon.

The anticipation surrounding Rosas Jr.’s match reflects both his popularity and the excitement of witnessing a young fighter potentially make history. Fans and analysts alike are closely watching how he navigates this next chapter in his promising career.
