Teenager Anderson's First Goal Seals Shock Win For Charlton Against Derby

Teenager Karoy Anderson secured his first senior goal in a stunning victory for Charlton Athletic over promotion-chasing Derby County. The match witnessed Eiran Cashin giving Derby the lead, followed by goals from Alfie May and Anderson.

Derby dominated play from the start but struggled to convert their dominance into goals, with their first shot coming in the 25th minute courtesy of Korey Smith. However, Charlton’s resilience paid off as Cashin capitalized on a set-piece in the 39th minute to put Derby in the lead.

Despite Derby’s early advantage, Charlton’s determination bore fruit in the second half. Substitute Chuks Aneke came close to equalizing with a header that hit the crossbar. It was May who successfully leveled the score from the penalty spot after Daniel Kanu was fouled by Wildsmith.

Charlton’s unexpected win was sealed in the 80th minute when Anderson capitalized on a defensive error to net the winner. The victory marked Charlton’s first win since November and a well-deserved three points against the promotion hopefuls.
