Tennessee Baseball Vs Ole Miss Series April 2023

OXFORD, Miss. — No. 4 Tennessee (29-4, 9-3 SEC) will take on No. 7 Ole Miss (26-7, 8-4 SEC) in a significant Southeastern Conference baseball series, beginning Friday, April 11, at Swayze Field. The series marks a pivotal point in the teams’ efforts to assert dominance in the SEC.

Tennessee heads into the series coming off its first series loss of the season against Texas A&M, where it dropped both games of a Saturday doubleheader. Meanwhile, Ole Miss clinched two of three games in a competitive series at Kentucky last weekend.

The first pitch of the series opener is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. EDT on Friday, with Saturday’s game set for 5 p.m. EDT and the final game at 3 p.m. EDT on Sunday. Fans will be able to watch each game via SEC Network+, accessible through the ESPN app with a subscription.

Historically, Ole Miss has led the all-time series against Tennessee, holding a 51-45-1 record since their first matchup on April 25, 1907. Under head coach Tony Vitello, Tennessee has performed well against the Rebels, boasting an 8-4 record since 2018.

“We’re excited for this matchup,” Vitello said during a press conference earlier this week. “Ole Miss has always posed a challenge, and we respect their talent and history. We need to bounce back strong.”

Both teams are ranked in the top ten nationally, adding extra intensity to the series. Arkansas recently claimed the top spot in the USA TODAY Coaches Poll after a sweep over Missouri, highlighting the competitive nature of the SEC this season.

Fans looking to follow the series can find streaming options available through SEC Network+, which allows access for current subscribers and offers a selection of platforms for new users. This match-up presents a unique opportunity for both teams to solidify their standings as they push toward the postseason.
