Tesla, the prominent electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, has once again adjusted its pricing strategy by reducing lease prices across its entire product lineup. The recent modifications in leasing costs have shown a decrease ranging from $51 for the Model Y Performance to an impressive $277 reduction on the Model X Plaid.

As an automaker known for its frequent pricing fluctuations, Tesla’s lease rates are observed to change more often compared to other automotive brands. However, analysts noted that Tesla’s prices had maintained a relative stability in recent months until this recent alteration. Previously, leasing a Dual-Motor All-Wheel Drive (AWD) model required a monthly payment of $1,209, with an initial payment of $9,404 at the signing, resulting in an effective monthly cost of $1,470, which was considered high given the Model X’s manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $81,380.

The situation was not considerably better for the high-performance Model X Plaid, which had a monthly lease cost set at $1,469 over 36 months, plus $9,664 due at signing, leading to an effective monthly outlay of $1,737. Analysts have described both trims as expensive leasing options for a period; however, Tesla’s recent strategy aims to make these models more financially accessible through its latest round of price cuts.

The Dual-Motor AWD model now has a reduced monthly payment of $1,099, with $9,294 due at signing. This adjustment brings the effective monthly cost down to $1,357, a $113 decrease from the previous offering. More significantly, the Model X Plaid has seen a substantial reduction in its lease terms, now available at $1,199 per month over 36 months with $9,394 upfront. This is an effective monthly cost of $1,460, representing a notable $277 improvement from the previous month’s rates.

Although these leases are still perceived as costly, especially given the Model X Plaid’s MSRP of $96,380, they represent the most competitive offers seen in recent times. With Tesla’s historical pattern of implementing sudden price changes, prospective leasers may consider the current terms favorable, especially for those interested in the Model X Plaid.
