The game kicked off with the Texans winning the toss and opting to defer. The Browns received the opening kickoff, starting their first offensive drive at their own 25-yard line. Quarterback Joe Flacco quickly connected with Jerome Ford on a play-action pass, gaining a first down and advancing to the 36-yard line. However, the Browns struggled to maintain momentum as Denzel Perryman made a decisive play in the backfield, sacking Ford for a loss of four yards.

The Browns were forced to punt, and Corey Bojorquez’s powerful kick traveled 52 yards before being fair caught by Desmond King II at the Texans’ 17-yard line.
